Visas & Travel Authorizations
Travellers to Canada either require a visa or need to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization know as an “eTA”. The eTA application process is online and costs CAD 7.00 (you need a valid passport, a credit card, and an e-mail address).
eTAs are electronically linked to your passport and remains valid for 5 years or until your passport expires. Most applications only take a few minutes in most cases however, in some cases you may need to submit documents before the application can be approved. As these cases can take a few days for the approval to be issued it it best to apply in plenty of time.
From Pearson International
The Union Pearson Express runs between the Airport (Terminal 1) and Union Station with stops at Bloor and Weston stations. The journey takes 25 minutes and there is a train every 15 minutes between 5:30 am and 1:00 am. A free inter-terminal train, known as “LINK “ connects Terminal 3 to Terminal 1 (there no longer is a Terminal 2) and runs every 4 to 8 minutes, depending on the time of day.
Taxi collection can be arranged either “curb side” or in the terminal as preferred. Taxis have a flat rate to downtown of $53, the rates to other areas of the city vary but are also flat rate, not metered. If you are approached in the airport and asked if you need a taxi, they are unlicensed. Uber Black and Uber SUV services are also available but tend to be more expensive.
Humber College Lakeshore Campus is approximately a 20 minute drive.
